Here are some frequently asked questions asked questions that we have received from our customers as to how The Beady Bag can revive an electronic device.
Can I open The Beady Bag before it is ready for use?
When The Beady Bag is opened, it begins to absorb any moisture it comes into contact with. For the best results it is best to leave the bag sealed until needed.
Do I have to open the beady box and throw the beads into The Beady Bag?
No. The plastic beady box already contains beads that are used to pull moisture through from the electronic device.
What's inside the beady box?
Small desiccant beads are contained in the beady box. A desiccant is a material that has the ability to pull moisture out of the air within an environment. Sealing the beady box in a closed environment, such as The Beady Bag allows for the moisture within The Beady Bag to be absorbed.
Why does The Beady Bag get warm at the bottom of the bag?
If the bottom of The Beady Bag gets warm please do not get alarmed, it is working fine. The beady box is causing evaporation as well as absorption to occur within The Beady Bag.
What if the dots on the humidity indicator don't all turn blue?
If by the 48 hour mark you do not see all blue dots on the humidity indicator, it is ok. Sometimes the indicator dots do not all turn blue. The last dot dot on the left may be left pink.
Why didn't the humidit indicator ever turn pink before it turned blue?
There may not be enough moisture inside of your electronic device to raise the humidity inside of the bag to change the indicator. This is a good thing!!! It means that your electronic device was not exposed to too much moisture.
Why did the humidity indicator turn from pink, back to blue, but my devos still does not work?
Unfortunately, The Beady Bag cannot fix an electronic device that has been permanently damaged by the exposure of water within the circuitry of the electronic device. That is why it is very important NOT to turn the phone on before sealing your device in The Beady Bag for at least 48 hours.
What if I dropped my device in saltwater, or a beer, will The Beady Bag still work?
The Beady Bag device ONLY removes water. If your device has been submerged in saltwater or another type of liquid other than fresh water, the removal of the moisture can leave material behind that can affect the performance of your electronic device. For example, if you were to drop your electronic device in salt water the moisture will be absorbed, but salt will still remain.
What devices does The Beady Bag work on?
The Beady Bag will remove water from any electronic device, here are a few examples:
- Wet Cell Phones
- Wet PDAs
- Wet Electronic Car Keys
- Wet PSPs
- Wet MP3 Players / iPods
- Wet Still Cameras
- Wet Video Cameras
- Wet Two-way Radios
- Wet Digital Memory
- Wet Remote Controls
- Wet Wii Controllers
- Wet Camcorder
Is The Beady Bag Reusable?
No. Once the beady box has been removed from the foil bag it immediately starts to absorb moisture. The effectiveness of The Beady Bag decreases the longer it is exposed to air. A brand new, freshly opened Beady Box is ideal for best results.
